NAIOP Arizona Becomes the Commercial Real Estate Development Association Arizona (CREDA Arizona)

PHOENIX – After nearly three decades as NAIOP Arizona, Arizona’s leading commercial real estate organization is officially becoming the Commercial Real Estate Development Association Arizona (CREDA Arizona, pronounced KREE-duh), aligning with a North America-wide transition that better reflects the modern commercial real estate industry and the work of its members.

The new name marks an important milestone for Arizona’s leading commercial real estate organization while preserving the mission its 22,000+ members across North America have relied upon for decades.

The transition comes as commercial real estate development continues to evolve far beyond the office and industrial roots upon which the organization was founded. Today, members are actively shaping virtually every corner of Arizona’s built environment, from multifamily housing, retail destinations, and mixed-use developments to industrial facilities, healthcare campuses, hospitality projects, logistics hubs, life sciences, data centers, and critical infrastructure.

“Commercial real estate development is about far more than buildings—it is about creating the places and infrastructure that allow communities and economies to thrive,” said Cheryl Lombard, President & CEO of CREDA Arizona. “Our new name reflects the breadth of that responsibility and the evolving role our industry plays in Arizona's future. CREDA Arizona better represents who we are today and strengthens our ability to bring together leaders across sectors to advance responsible, long-term growth.”

“Commercial real estate development has become one of the defining forces behind Arizona’s growth,” said Derek Flottum, Chair of the CREDA Arizona Board of Directors. “Our industry helps shape the communities where people live, work, innovate, and connect while supporting the infrastructure and investment that drive our economy. The new name better reflects that broader responsibility and positions our organization to lead the conversations that will help shape Arizona’s future.”

While the name is changing, the mission is not: advancing commercial real estate development through advocacy, education, research, and connections. CREDA Arizona will continue to advocate for the industry at the Capitol and city halls statewide, deliver timely research and programming, and connect the people and partnerships that move Arizona forward.

“This is an exciting new chapter for our organization,” Lombard said. “We’re incredibly proud of everything that was built as NAIOP Arizona, and we’re equally excited about the future. The name may be changing, but our commitment to Arizona’s commercial real estate industry has never been stronger.”
